At Holy Child we aim to grow each child’s mathematical understanding so they can reach their true potential.
Mathematics at Holy Child is aligned with the three inter-related dimensions of the Victorian Curriculum:
- numbers and algebra
- measurement and geometry
- statistics and probability
In the classroom, we utilise a combination of whole class, small group and individual teaching strategies to support students in maths. Maths is designed to identify individual student needs, which informs the structure, planning and teaching of Mathematics. In Mathematics we encourage students to learn with concrete materials, ask questions and problem solve.
